Abstract

The purposes of this research are to find out there are any mistakes or not which are made by the students, to describe the location of the mistakes which are made by the students, to analyze the factors which cause the mistakes and to describes how to solve the mistakes which are often made by the student in adjusting the entry test in class XII IPS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Wuryantoro. The method of collecting data which used in this research are test, interview and documentation. The techniques of data analysis which used in this research are reduction data, presentation data, and conclusion. The results of the research indicate that there are many mistakes which made by the students in adjusting the entry test. There are the mistakes which made by the students are as follows: (1) miss understand in understanding the questions of the test; (2) fault in determining the account which are debit or credit; (3) fault in accounting operation of percent form. The factors which cause the student made some mistakes are they do not understand about the basic concepts of adjusting entry, the students experience confusion in understanding the new words or sentences, the students are lack of ability in analyzing the questions, the students are careless in doing the test, especially in accounting operations and the lack of students in practice and repeat the material which has been taught. The method to solve the mistakes which made by the students is the students have to be more concentrate and more careful in reading the questions of test, the students should have more practice in answering the questions with different variations in order to improve their remembrance and ability in understanding the students concept, the students should re-check their work after completion and they have to practice a lot in order to improve skills in accounting.
