STUDENT’S INTEREST OF BECOMING TEACHER REVIEWED FROM SELF CONCEPT AND STUDENT PERCEPTION ABOUT TEACHER PROFESSIONS (CASE STUDY ON STUDENTS FORCE 2014 STUDY PROGRAM OF ACCOUNTING EDUCATION OF MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF SURAKARTA). Essay. Fakulty of Teacher Training and Education. Muhamamdiyah University of Surakarta. January, 2018. The purpose of this research is to know: 1) the influence of self-concept toward the interest of becoming teacher, 2) the influence of teacher's perception toward teacher's interest, 3) the influence of self concept and teacher's perception of teacher's interest. Population in this research is student of class of 2014 of Accounting Education UMS as many as 237 students. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling as many as 142 respondents. Data obtained by documentation and questionnaire techniques. Data analysis was performed by multiple regression techniques, including t-test, F-test, R2 test, relative and effective donation. The results obtained: (1) self-concept has a significant effect on the interest of the teacher proved by the t-count value of 10.648> t-table 1,960 and the probability of 0.000 <0.05. (2) Perceptions of teacher profession have an effect on teacher's interest proved by t-count value 4,784> t-table 1,960 and probability 0.000<0,05. (3) The self-concept and perception of the teacher profession simultaneously affect the interest of the teacher is evidenced by the F-count value of 142.515> F-table 3,000 and the probability of 0.000 <0.05. (4) Self concept variable gives relative contribution 73% and effective contribution 48,7%. Variable perceptions of teacher profession give relative contribution 27% and effective contribution 18%. R2 calculation result is 66,7%. This means that the self-concept variables and perceptions of the teacher profession give the effect of 66.7% of the interest to become teachers, the remaining 33.3% influenced by other variables.
