Abstract

In civil engineering’s world use of concrete in a construction is widely used until now. In structural calculations, the weight of the volume of concrete becomes one of the most calculated factors. In general, conventional concrete has a high volume weight of 2400 kg / m³. For that purpose a new method is produced that produces stronger concrete of the lower type, called lightweight concrete. Light weight of lightweight concrete is less than 1800 kg / m³ (Tjokrodimuljo, 1996). This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of aluminum powder with variation of the addition of powder by 0%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7% of the weight of cement with added gypsum powder added 0.4% of the weight of cement used , in terms of compressive strength and workabilitynya at age 28 days with the water factor of cement is determined equal in all variations, that is equal to 0.45. The samples used are cylindrical (d = 15cm; h = 30cm), concrete quality is planned to range from 2.47 - 25 Mpa. (Trisnoyuono, 2009). Number of samples 12, Each variation consists of 3 samples. The results of the compressive strength test showed that the increase of maximum compressive strength at age 28 days was 7,615 MPa, 7,530 MPa, 7,454 MPa, 7,435 Mpa. With the weight of the non-sand concrete volume ranges from 1,615 - 1,657 gr / cm ³. From all test result of compressive strength of non sand concrete concluded that the addition of aluminum powder influenced by compressive strength and also weight of non-sand concrete volume. The lighter the weight of the concrete volume the smaller the compressive strength of the concrete, and vice versa the greater the weight of the concrete volume, the greater the compressive strength of the concrete
