Abstract

Background : Vertical jump is needed by volleyball players so that players can make a high jump, so players can perform smash or spike balls from the net with perfect and right on target to thr opponent’s game area during the game. Objective : To find out the difference of half squat and squat jump againts the increase of vertical jumpon the volleyball player in sumber village. Methods : This study is a quasi experimental approaches and methods of two group pre and post test, Samples of this study were 20 people who were divided into two group thats is Half Squat and Squat Jump group. The study was conducted over 4 weeks, the frequency of excercise 3 times a week. Measurements of Vertical jump using vertical jump test. Data analysis using 2 paired t-test and independent T-test. Result : Based on the statistical result to test the effect before and after practice Half Squat obtained p-value 0,000. while for the test before and after excercise Squat Jump obtained p-value 0,000. It can be concluded that there is the effect of exercise Half Squat and Squat Jump to Vertical jump. To test the effect difference was obtained p-value 0,404, so it can be concluded that terse is no diference in the effecr of exercise half squat and squat jump to vertical jump.
