Abstract

Diarrhea disease is still the second cause of morbidity and mortality in children less than two years old around the world, especially in developing countries. The incidence of diarrhea is also prevalent in developing countries, such as indonesia due to poor individual hygiene behavior and community sanitation that is affected by low socio-economic and educational levels. This study aims to determine description of mother’s behaviour on the prevention of diarrhea children in the village wonorejo sub district polokarto district sukoharjo. This research is a kind of quantitative research, using a retrospective approach with analytical descriptive research method that is researchers describe the picture of mother's behavior on prevention of diarrhea in infants. The result of this research is mother's behavior in breastfeeding showed poor category 16 mother (53,3%), while mother behavior in hand washing habit showed good category 22 mother (73,3%) and mother behavior in water use showed good category 27 mother (90%). 1 Descriptive test results indicate that mother behavior in prevention of diarrhea in children under five in Wonorejo village Kecamatan Polokarto Sukoharjo regency has bad behavior in breastfeeding and good behavior in habit of hand washing and water usage.
