Abstract

Gambling is the most common of crime in society, because it can be do anywhere and in any form. Gambling means games that based on hopes for winning is largely dependent on the luck and also the expectation becomes bigger because of cleverness and play habits. In this study the author formulates the problem as follows: 1. What is the criminological aspect that drives gambling practices around the entertainment show of the people? 2. How is law enforcement against gambling conducted at a folk entertainment show? 3. The obstacles of the police in the process of law enforcement of gambling in the jurisdiction of Boyolali Police?The method used juridical empirical approach, this research was conducted in POLRESTA Boyolali. The results was Factors that affect gambling activities around the performance of the people include: a. Habit factor, b. Educationalfactors, c. Religion factor, d. Environmental factors, e. Economic factors, f. The weak factor of law enforcement. The most dominant factors affecting gambling activities around the entertainment show of the people is the habits (culture). The effort to combat gambling crime around the performance of the people in the jurisdiction of Boyolali Police. a. Preventive actions are: 1). Conducting legal counseling to the people of Boyolali District, 2). Providing religious enlightenment to the public about all aspects that gambling action can inflict. b. Repressive measures in the form of: 1). Conducting raids on gambling citizens, 2). Providing a good understanding of the community about the dangers of gambling, 3). Providing severe sanctions against perpetrators. Police constraints in the law enforcement process of gambling in the jurisdiction of Boyolali Police, among others: a. Difficult to track gambling places, b. The low participation of the community, where the community tends to be indifferent and afraid to provide reports c. Police act after a report, and less active patrol in the community.
