Abstract

This research is done by direct observation to where the process of mixing the asphalt in PT Pancadarma. The study of asphalt mixing procedures using AMP is an aggregate preparation consisting of coarse, fine, and moderate aggregates in cold bin (cold bins) brought to the dryer. In the hot screening unit the aggregate is separated again by size, before entering into hot bin (hot bins). The process of mixing hot asphalt and aggregate is done on (mixer or pugmill) after weighing with the composition that has been planned. With such a study, we can develop an asphalt mixer-scale design drawing plan in the Laboratory that approaches the mixing process in AMP. The research method was developed through three ways, first observing directly how AMP works with photographs in AMP. Both interviews with operators and engineers responsible for AMP. The three engineered mixer scale design tools at the Laboratory. The results can explain the AMP component and how it works. Each component is interlinked, works integrated, and requires good control. The AMP component consists of Cold Bin, Aggregate, Elevator, Dryer, Screen, Hot Bin, Pugmill. The hot aggregate material and hot asphalt after being weighed in accordance with the provisions are included in the mixer component, then stirred until homogeneous, after ± 30 seconds later discharged and poured into the truck. Laboratory-scale mixer design uses drum material, and steel screw, so it can stir a maximum of 50 kg of asphalt mixture. The mixed material is inserted through the inlet on the side, and is ejected through the outlet at the bottom of the drum. The mixer is equipped with a thermometer. This tool is also designed to be moved, so it can be used anywhere in mobility by adding wheels in the baseplate section.
