Abstract
This study examined the effect of good corporate governance on financial performance of the company. Good corporate governance was identified by the proportion of independent commissioners, the number of audit committee, the managerial ownership and the institutional ownership, Indicators of financial performance were measured by return on equity (ROE). The sample used 41 manufactur companies from a listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in period 2011-2013. The sample was determined using Puposive sampling method. The study used multiple regression analysis and processed using SPSS. The results showed that there was significant effect between proportion of independent commissioners and institutional ownership to financial performance. However it was not found that audit committees and managerial ownership had an influence on financial performance.
