Abstract

Abstract Limb muscle explosive power is the result of effort in unit time units caused when muscle contractions move objects in a certain space or distance. Muscle explosive power is also a component of physical conditions that can determine achievement results in motion skills. To determine the explosive power of the leg muscles in a jump can be measured through a vertical jump test. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of depth jump training on explosive muscle limb power in basketball players. The subjects of this study were 30 basketball players divided into experimental groups and control groups based on the inclusion criteria in sampling. This research method used experimental with quasi experimental approach and two group pre test design - post test design. The results of this study note that the value of wilconxon test in the treatment group is known that asymp.sig (2-tailed) or p value of 0.001 means the value of jump height through vertical jump test conducted in the treatment group that is equal to p = 0.001 (p <0, 05). The value indicates that Ha is received, meaning that there is a significant difference between the pre test and post test results on the jump height done through vertical jump test after doing depth jump exercise. While the statistical test on the control group is known that asymp.sig (2-tailed) or p value is 0.09 because the value is greater than 0,05 or (p> 0,05), Ho is rejected. From these results it can be concluded that the depth jump can increase muscle explosive power. Keywords: Depth Jump, Exploding Muscle, vertical jump
