Abstract

Background:The informal sector absorbs 90% of workers in 2013-2014, one of them is a laundry worker. Most of them use their hands for work by repititivly,as a result there is a risk of complaints on the wrist in medical care more known cases of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Disorders of the wrist due to suppression of the median nerve can complain of pain, tingling and empact on functional decline. This research aims to know the effect of kinesio taping on CTS of pain and functional. Method: This research used quasi exsperimental by using pre and post test with control group design. Respondents of this study were 18 people consisting of treatment group and control group. This research was conducted for 3 weeks with a dose of 5 days with 2 days break. Results: The results of influence test of treatment groups was obtained p<0,05 then there is influence of kinesio taping applications to decrease pain.While in the control group obtained p>0,05 then there is no influence of kinesio taping applications .The test results influence of treatment group on functional hand with p<0,05 then there is influence of kinesio taping to hand functional, while in the control group with p>0,05 so it can be concluded that there is no influence. Different influence test, the effect of treatment group and control group showed that there was a significant effect, because p<0,05 was obtained on pain. While different test of influence on hand functional between treatment and control group got p<0,05 so there is difference. Conclusion: kinesio taping application in carpal tunnel syndrome proved to decrease pain and increased functional hand.
