Abstract

A rice transplanter is a modern rice planter with same and regular number of planting, spacing and planting conditions. Rice transplanter is a technological innovation in agriculture. This technology allows farmers to plant rice seedlings and it is expected that by this technology, the amount of rice production will increase in quantity and quality. Given the increasing scarcity of rice planting labor, it is expected that this technology can be adopted well by the farmers. This study aimed to see the innovation diffusion process of rice transplanter, and to find out how the adoption of rice transplanter technology 2 done by farmers in Wironanggan Village. This research applied a qualitative descriptive method. Sources of data in this study were obtained from two sources; primary data and secondary data sources. Primary data was taken from in-depth interview with resource person and secondary data was collected in the form of data and document collecting. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The validity technique used by the researcher in this research applied triangulation. The results showed that: Communication channels both interpersonal and group channels (Socialization, Counseling) affected the level of adoption. The more farmers took the initiative to seek information actively, whether in groups or social, the faster the process of adoption of rice transplanter was done. There was no farmer found in the category of Late Majority because farmers who were associated with Gapoktan (who actively seek and get information) will adopt technology directly and farmers.
