Abstract

the development of today's technology, concrete is one of the building materials that have developed very rapidly on the main construction, one of which is the construction of the beam. The concrete beam is commonly known as the bending structure element which is more dominant in holding the force in the form of bending and shear moments. To get maximum results, researchers are trying to combine concrete and steel which is often known as reinforced concrete. Research on the comparison of flexural strength performance between reinforced concrete beams with profiles of mild steel canals and reinforced concrete beams with profiles of conventional steels. The test sample consisted of 9 samples using 3 variations where variation A is a beam with reinforcement of mild steel canal u, variation B is a beam with reinforcement of mild steel conventional u-steel and variation to C is the reinforcement of conventional steel. The test used a strong bending test method and then the sample calculated the value of stiffness, initial crack load and ultimate load by using theoretical and experimental methods. Theoretically, the stiffness (A = 8,811 kN/mm, B = 20,494 kN/mm, C = 21,384 kN/mm), initial crack (A = 8,426 kN, B = 8,112 kN, C = 8,424 kN), ultimate load = 11,289 kN, B = 11,289 kN, C = 14,653 kN). Experimentally obtained stiffness (A = 2,877 kN/mm, B = 2,403 kN/mm, C = 1,625 kN/mm), initial crack (A = 14,667 kN, B = 10,667 kN, C = 15,533 kN), ultimate load = 29,33 kN, B = 27,33 kN, C = 26,00 kN). So it can be concluded that A beam is able to withstand the ultimate load and greater stiffness value compared to beam B and C, but the initial crack value has smaller value.
