Abstract

Employment problems are still a serious problem facing the government. This study aims to analyze the factors - factors that affect the level of employment in the residency of Semarang in 2007-2015. Factors used in this study are population, inflation, gross regional domestic product (PDRB), and district minimum wage (UMK). The data used is panel data by taking 6 districts and or cities in the residency of Semarang with 9 years time (2007-2015). Through secondary data taken from literature study both BPS literature, previous journal and research. The data is processed by using panel data with selected method that is Random Effect Method (REM) analysis method assisted with E-views7 software in its operation. The results of this study indicate the variables of gross regional domestic product (PDRB) and the number of residents have a significant effect on the absorption of manpower in Semarang residency for the period of 2007-2015. While the variable inflation and minimum wage district (UMK) did not significantly affect the absorption of labor in residency Semarang period 2007-2015.
