Abstract

ABSTRACT The onset of fear experienced by Tuberculosis sufferers caused by their inability to run tuberculosis treatment well and long treatment time will cause anxiety in tuberculosis patient. Implementation of tuberculosis drugs in Balai Besar Kesehatan Paru Masyarakat Surakarta was not successful because it is still found tuberculosis patients who dropped the drug because the patient does not know the impact or effect if to break up in taking tuberculosis medication. The purpose of this research is to know the description of the anxiety level of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the intensive phase treatment at Lung Health Center of Surakarta Community. Type of research is descriptive explorative design. The population of all pulmonary tuberculosis patients in intensive phase treatment of 270 people, taken a sample of 73 people with purposive sampling technique. The single variable is the anxiety level of Pulmonary tiberculosis patients, the instrument used with the HRS-A (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) modification questionnaire. Data analysis technique with descriptive analysis. The results showed that the characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the intensive phase treatment of the Lung Health Institute of Surakarta were mostly 56-65 years old as many as 24 people (28.8%), female sex (52.1%), junior high school ( 41.1%), and had a job as housewife / not working (52.1%). Levels of anxiety that occur in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in the intensive phase treatment at Lung Health Center Surakarta Society has an average value of 29.21 with a high of 38 and the lowest 20, this means some patients have a moderate anxiety level.
