Abstract

The purpose of this research is to 1) know the condition of Cawak irrigation network of Bojonegoro District from 2012 until 2016, 2) explains the effectiveness of maintenance of irrigation networks Cawak Bojonegoro District after the maintenance of persection from 2012 to 2016, 3) know how to improve the effectiveness of maintenance Cawak irrigation network of Bojonegoro District after the maintenance of persection from 2012 to 2016. The location of this research is in Cawak Irrigation Network of Bojonegoro Regency, East Java Province. This research is quantitative descriptive. Technique of data retrieval is done through field observation, secondary data, and literature study. The results of the research show that: 1) The condition of Cawak irrigation network of Bojonegoro District from 2012 until 2016 there is a river belonging to the ephemeral epochal river that has only water flow in the rainy season whereas in the dry season the flow of water passing relatively small and even dry at all. Cawak Irrigation Area has a land area of 1,733 Ha. Raw rice area of 1733 ha is all located in the downstream of BC.l., while in upstream BC.l. is a rain-fed rice field. 2) The maintenance of Cawak Irrigation Network has been running quite effectively. This condition indicates that the water requirement for agriculture can still be fulfilled although not maximal yet. The lack of water distribution does not interfere with the existing cropping pattern, because the planting period is rice-polowijo-polowijo. And polowijo planted is dominated by tobacco and onion crops, so the need for water is not as much as the needs of rice crops. 3) Efforts to improve the effectiveness of Cawak irrigation network maintenance Bojonegoro District from 2012 to 2016 associated with the production of food. When the discharge in Cawak river decreases the Cawak Primary channel still functions as long storage, because there is maintenance of raising the dike upstream in BC.l along 400 meters. Sufficiently wide channels are maintained, while the basic slope and embankment need to be normalized and stone masonry masonry on several segments prone to landslides and eroded. The cracked part is usually in the outer corner of the channel.
