Abstract

Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology is a form of automation that helps designers to improve drawings, specifications, and design-related elements that use special graphical effects and computer program computations. CAD systems draw using software provisions, using commands or using an existing icon, or both, typically include 2 and 3 dimensional modeling and computer simulation operation models. The CAD system runs through the PC for 2D and 3D design and modeling and then runs and integrates with a CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) system customized to the CNC machine format to be used. Metal casting is a process of making objects done through several stages ranging from making patterns, molds, melting process, pouring, disassembling and cleaning the castings. This study aims to produce products in the form of permanent mold (Permanent Mold). Permanent prints are molds that can be used repeatedly and are usually made of metal. The casting process using the mold will be faster in preparation and foundry products using permanent molds to produce products that have a very minimal roughness to reduce the machining process. Solidwork 2014 is used for engineering drawing and CAM software used for machining process planning. Machining process using CNC milling machine.
