Abstract

Soil microbes are producing the largest one of which is a fungus. Results of the benefits of mushroom culture we already felt among others bleomycin, daunorobisin, and as an anticancer drug mitomycin breast. Development of producing anticancer metabolites of soil fungi grim necessary. This study aims to determine the anticancer effect of the methanol extract of the fungus from agricultural land, homestead, riverbanks bengawan solo, landfill and sewers to the cytotoxic effects of breast cancer cells MCF-7. Soil samples were collected and screened later planted in the media that have been added Czapex Dox streptomycin and tetracycline antibiotics and yeastextract.Samples of soil fungi and media Czapex Dox extracted with methanol. The methanol extract at a concentration of 500; 250; 125; 62.5; 31.25 mg / mL were tested using the MTT assay to determine the cytotoxic effect on cancer cells MCF-7. Cytotoxic test results showed that the methanol extract of the five soil fungi capable of increasing the number of live MCF- 7 cells with increasing concentration. Increasing the percentage of live MCF-7 cells showed that the methanol extract of the fungus does not produce the active metabolite that is able to inhibit the growth of MCF-7 cells. It can be concluded that the methanol extract of the fungus does not have anticancer effects against cancer cells MCF-7.
