Abstract

Ischemic stroke is a disease caused by the formation of local thrombus or embolism, resulting in occlusion of the cerebral artery. Ischemic stroke occurs almost 80% and is the most common stroke. One of the pharmacological therapies used in patients with ischemic stroke is antiplatelet. Antiplatelet is used as a thrombocyte aggregation inhibitor. The purpose of this study was to investigate the profile and to evaluate the use of antiplatelet in patients with ischemic stroke in terms of the what parameters of indication, the exact patient, the exact drug, and the exact dose. The study included observational (non-experimental) types, with retrospective data retrieval and descriptive analysis. Sampling was 96 patients using purposive sampling method. The inclusion criteria of this study are ischemic stroke patients undergoing hospitalization at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta period 2016 and using antiplatelet therapy and have complete medical record data. The exclusion criteria of this study were pregnant patients and died. The guideline used is Perdossi: Special Management of Acute Stroke (2011) for precise, proper and appropriate indication of patient and drug analysis and Drug Information Handbook (2009) for proper dose analysis.The results of the evaluation of antiplatelet usage (aspirin and clopidogrel) were 100% precise indication; 97.91% precise patient; 87.50% precise drug; 87.50% precise dose and 87,50% rationality of therapy.
