Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency performance of conventional banks and sharia banks during the period 2015-2016 using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The data used in this study is secondary data collected from financial reports published by Bank Indonesia. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling by taking samples of 4 conventional banks and 4 syariah banks. Measurement of efficiency in this research using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method with intermediation approach. This research uses input and output variables. The input variables consist of operational costs, labor costs, and third party funds, while the output variables consist of other operating income and Credit / financing. To know the efficiency of conventional banks and sharia banks with data using software applications DEAWIN. The results of this study indicate that the value of banking sector efficiency in Indonesia shows the numbers are almost close to 100%, especially the most prevalent in the group of conventional banks.
