Abstract

RAP is a waste or recycled pavement that has exhausted its planning age and can be recovered by mixing new pavement materials. RAP recycling is an attempt to overcome the problem of new aggregate limitations used continuously. Based on previous research is mostly done with the method of CMA (Cold Mix Asphalt) but the results are still many shortcomings. In this research using mixing method with WMA (Warm Mix Asphalt) which to overcome the weakness of mixing CMA (Cold Mix Asphalt). This research aims to determine properties of temperature variations (Warm Mix Asphalt) such as 90ᵒC, 105ᵒC, 115ᵒC, 130ᵒC with reference of Marshall, ITS and volumetric results and to know the optimum temperature of the four variations of temperature. The warm mixture uses this emulsion bitumen, all using RAP material originating from the Pantura line around the Waleri-Kendal road. This research started with testing of RAP material characteristic, bitumen used as CSS-1 emulsion asphalt with specification from PT. IZZA Sarana Karsa Sidoharjo which refers to the specification of Bina Marga 2010 Revision 3. Then create the gradation design, the estimated emulsion asphalt used and the addition of water that begins with the calculation of KARA (Asphalt Residual Asphalt) and KAE (Asphalt Emulsion), water content compacting test , test of compaction water content reduction, KARO test (Optimum Residual Asphalt content) then Marshall, ITS and Volumetric test based on temperature variation used. Based on the RAP Mixed RAP study, the properties of Marshall and ITS showed that the increase in temperature along with the addition of temperature used in the mixture, based on temperature variation of 90ᵒC, 105ᵒC, 115ᵒC, 130ᵒC obtained the result of stability value that is 399,18 kg; 589,59 kg; 617,45 kg; 803,26 kg. Flow 10,82 mm; 12,27 mm; 12,32 mm; 13,71 mm. MQ obtained 38 kg/mm; 48,28 kg/mm; 50,14 kg/mm; 58,80 kg/mm. The ITS test obtained 249,17 kPa, 297,84 kPa, 374,44 kPa, 417,15 kPa, for volumetric testing of VMA and VIM values on the warm asphalt mixture decreased, but for VFWA values increased as the temperature used high. Based on the results of the research, the optimum temperature obtained at 105ᵒC.
