Abstract

Abstract Mental health is a condition where the realization of harmony between the soul's actual functions, then someone who has good mental health must also be able to pass through the circumstances of life when depressed, and able to utilize all the capacities, creativity, energy, and encouragement that exist as much as possible, and have the ability to accept themselves and their environment without any feelings of disappointment and complain. Mental health problem which found in Diabetic Mellitus patient is internalisation problems like feel sad and unhappy, pesimistic, worried, anxious, self reproach, most of them depression. The aim of this research was to know the differences between Mental health Diabetic Mellitus type I Patient and Diabetic Mellitus Type II. The hypothesis which proposed the writer was the differences between Mental health Diabetic Mellitus type I Patient and Diabetic Mellitus Type II. The Population of this reasearch was all diabetic mellitus patients type I and type II who in hospitalization service or outpatient in Regional Public Hospital Pandanaran Boyolali during 1-30 september 2017. The subject of this research were 113 diabetic mellitus patients type I and type II in Regional Public Hospital Pandanaran Boyolali which were choosen used incidental sampling method. The research method used was quantitative approach measuring instrument used is mental health scala Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 (HSCL-25). Analysis technique used was independent sample t-test. The analysis data the result obtained that there were significance differences between Mental health Diabetic Mellitus type I Patient and Diabetic Mellitus Type II. It can seen from the analysis data result which shown result p value (sig. (2-tailed) in mental health in level of significances 0,000 (p < 0,05). From that result can we know that hypothesis test was accepted because there were significance differences between Mental health Diabetic Mellitus type I Patient and Diabetic Mellitus Type II. From these results hence can be known hypothesis test accepted because there is significant difference between mental health of type I diabetic mellitus patient with diabetic mellitus type II. Judging from the type of Diabetic mellitus disease and the way of healing that diabetic mellitus type I tends to be more severe and difficult to cure, therefore the mental health of diabetic mellitus type I is more disturbed than diabetic mellitus type II.
