Abstract

Jetis crossroads is one of signalize intersection in Salatiga. Traffic flow in this crossroads are towards Semarang, Surakarta, Ambarawa and Salatiga. Jetis crossroads has a traffic jam potential, due to there are many buses and shuttles that stop near the crossroads to look for passengers also heavy vehicles that passing through the crossroads. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of the crossroads by using of the Multi Controller Program also to determine its benefits. Data used for the analysis are primary data and secondary data. Primary data includes geometric data, environmental condition data, traffic flow data, and signal timing data. The recording of traffic flow is divided into light vehicles, heavy vehicles, motorcycles and non-motorized vehicles that are separated in interval of 15 minutes at peak hours in the morning, afternoon and evening. The secondary data is population data from Biro Pusat Statistik (BPS). These data are analyzed to find the capacity, saturation, queue length, vehicle stops and delays by using of Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual 1997. From this analysis, the traffic flow at the Jetis crossroads is jamming during peak hours. Peak hours in the morning is 2433.4 smp/hour, at noon is 2124.8 smp/hour and in the afternoon is 21857.2 smp/hour. The performance of Jetis crossroads at the morning peak hours can be seen from the delay of the closer intersection legs. The Delay of intersection leg of Jl. Wahid Hasyim is 116.1 sec/smp, intersection leg of Jl. Osamaliki is 47.8 sec/smp, intersection leg of Jl. Kartini is 120.9 sec/smp and intersection leg of Jl. Imam Bonjol is 372 sec/smp.The cost analysis on the GDP indicates that using of the Controller Multi Program can save Rp. 1.110.360.706 for the first alternative and can save Rp.1.330.962.692 for the second alternative. And the cost analysis on the UMR can save Rp. 1.700.740.345 for the first alternative, and can save Rp. 2.038.636.503 for the second alternative.
