Abstract

This study aims to determine the formation of soft skill in SMK Batik 1 Surakarta through teacher pedagogic competence. The subjects of the study were economics teacher and class X students. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documents. Data were analyzed through data collection steps, presentation, data reduction and conclusions. Technique of examining data validity with source triangulation. From the interviews, observation, and document shows that the economic teacher in SMK Batik Surakarta develop soft skill communicate, honesty, responsibility, critical thinking and confidence. And to develop soft skill the teacher use pedagogic competence which include teacher comprehension indicator to student, planning and implementation of learning, implementation of educational and conducive learning, evaluation process of learning result and student development to actualize various potency owned by student. The formation of soft skill is done through the learning process, where students are trained to develop their capabilities. The results showed that pedagogic competence of the teacher to determine soft skill of students that includes ability to communicate, honesty, responsibility, critical thinking, and confidence. Economics teachers who teach in SMK Batik 1 Surakarta mengapka 5 pedagogic pedagogic indicators namely, students' understanding of students, planning and implementation of learning, the implementation of educational and conducive learning, conducting evaluation of learning outcomes and facilitate the development of potential learners to actualize the various potentials owned . From the implementation of these competencies, the results of the research show the formation of soft skill of the students that previously passive students become active, which previously did not focus into focus, which previously was not active in interacting become active interaction, which previously not timely in completing the task to be on time in completing the task , who had not been brave enough and was not confident in expressing his opinion to be brave and confident in expressing his own opinion, which previously just cheated a friend while doing the task that I give now to do his own job, which previously cheated when the exam is now doing his own exam. The results of my classroom observations also show teachers apply pedagogic competencies in shaping the soft skills of students.
