Abstract

About 25 people die from air pollution every year. There are several factors that must be like: the degree of suspended solids and the level of dissolved oxygen; see nitrates, phosphates, chlorides, heavy metals, bacteria. Liquid waste generated from the batik production process contains heavy metals and high dyestuffs. This study aims to determine the optimum pH, time and stirring of precipitation and plant improvement on phytoremediation method. Research with synthetic liquid waste by mixing methyl orange and methylene blue solution. This research was carried out precipitation method at Ca (OH) 2 concentration 0.2 M with stirring 100rpm for 20 min with variation of pH of precipitate 4; 5; 7. From the resultant filtrate filtrate with optimum pH is used for phytoremediation in apu wood and water bamboo. Taking 10 ml of sample and observation every 1; 3; 5; 7 days to. Analysis of dyestuffs in this study using spectrophotometric tool. Analysis of COD level by using COD reactor, taking 2.5 ml of initial waste sample, waste contact with. Plants with addition of fertilizer and 3.5 ml of reagent solution in quvet. After that the cuvette was heated to the COD reactor for 2 hours. Then to calculate the COD content by using the linear equation of the KHP raw curve. The results of this study showed a decrease in dye and COD levels. The decrease of orange methyl and blue methylene absorbance at pH 7 were 82.57% and 78.83%, respectively. The decrease of absorbance in methyl orange and methylene blue using the most effective plants using bamboo water plants are 98.88% and 96.39% respectively but the plants are optimum on the 5th day. The decrease of COD is most effective by using apu wood.
