Abstract

Development of the number of vehicles increased in Surakarta 15% per year. That amount is not proportional to the growth of the infrastructure of roads and amenities are only 0.1% per year. While vehicle out sign in Surakarta is estimated at 2.5 million units per day. This causes traffic congestion, including around Sections Purwosari-Gendengan at rush-hour. This research was conducted to know the change of road performance in Purwosari - Gendengan segment and around Gendengan Crossroads. The methods used by comparing primary and secondary data that has been analyzed so that it gets the performance results of the segments before and after the change in one direction, the primary data obtained directly from the original sources (observation/survey) while the data the secondary data were obtained from penelitia earlier, in this case the secondary data obtained from the Dishubkominfo of Surakarta. The results showed the highest traffic volumes occur at peak hours a.m. (06:30-07:30 GMT). Road capacity has increased compared to before the change of system in one direction. Performance conditions internode way around Simpang Gendengan is also experiencing an increase compared to before the establishment of the rule of siste m one-way traffic, the condition is known from the value of the DS majority less than 0.75 LOS A, B and C, than before perubaha one direction there is a segment value DS exceeding 0.75 LOS D and E. Then it can be inferred by the presence of a one-way traffic system changes it a bit much can improve the performance of the segments around Gendengan Crossroad.
