Abstract

The area of Kaligawe Street is one of many which experience flood due to the high tide that cause the water unable to flow to downstream area and the storage channel became smaller. Kaligawe Street is part of Pantura Street that connects Semarang and Demak. The inundation along Kaligawe Street cause severe congestion as well as infrastructure damage. Long storage of Kaligawe is used as flood control that occurs in sub-system of East Semarang on sub-catchment Kaligawe of 378 Ha service area (Genuk Housing Enviromental Area) and it has pump capacity of 1.6 m3/s. Kaligawe long storage optimization analysis is by collecting rainfall data of Karangrejodan Station at Simongan. Hydrology analysis include the determination of rain mean by algebra method, frequency analysis then is examined using Chi-Square and Smirnov-Kolmogorof method while to determaine rain intensity is using method of Mononobe and ABM. Flood plan determination is using rational equation. Analysis of capacity and pump needs is using water balance method and analysis of pump selection is using Bernoulli equation. The Optimum value on Kaligawe long storage in 4.5 m deep with initial condition 0.75m and requires at least in 1.04 mwh, with 2 pumps and pumping duration of 6.54 hours. Based on pump selection analysis on real discharge, the pump type is MWI Axial flow 72" P0, with power of 400 HP, the value is of 3.93 m3/s on the head of 5.24 m.
