Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) to describe the library condition physically in the urgency of school library for the improvement of students reading interest in SD Muhammadiyah Suruh year 2017/2018, (2) to Identify the function of library in implementing the urgency of school library for the improvement of student reading interest in SD Muhammadiyah Suruh year 2017/2018, and (3) to describe the library management the in the urgency of schoo library for the improvement of students reading interest in SD Muhammadiyah Suruh year 2017/2018, (4) to describe the urgency of school library for the improvement of students reading interest in SD Muhammadiyah Suruh year 2017/2018, and (5) to describe the way to improve reading interest. This research of research is a descriptive qualitative research. The Informants in this research are the headmaster, a second grade teacher, a sixth grade teacher, a librarian, fourth grade students, and sixth grade students. The technique of data collecting by using observation, interview, and documentar. The validity used triangulation source and the methode. The technique of data analysis is the analysis of qualitative data. The result from the research showed that: (1) to condition of library in SD Muhammadiyah Suruh is good but it is not maximal, (2) the function of library as teaching material the source of learning and the referance for students, teachers, and officers, (3) the management has been done as well as possible to attract students and ease the students to borrow the books, (4) students reading interest os good but it is not maximal, and (5) to improve reading interest and in the library have been done by each teachers in each grade and every teachers have stimulated the students to grow reading interest and visit the library.
