Abstract

Nurses are one type of work that includes having a high risk of stress. One of the factors causing high stress level is workload. This study aims to determine the relationship between the perception of workload with burnout syndrome in nurses. The hypothesis proposed is a positive relationship between the perception of workload with burnout syndrome on the nurse. The sampling technique used the quota sampling technique with the subject of 100 people. This research uses quantitative method by using measurement perception of work load scale and burnout syndrome scale. Data analysis in this study using SPSS 16.00 with product moment correlation technique, obtained correlation coefficient value of 0.605 with significance (p) = 0,000 (p ≤ 0.01), which means there is a very significant positive relationship between workload perception with burnout syndrome . The effective contribution of the two variables is shown by the value (r^2)of 0.366. This shows that the variable of workload perception affecting burnout syndrome is 36,6% and 63,4% there are other factors that influence outside perception of work load. Category of work load perception is high with the empirical rate (RE) of 68.65 and the hypothetical average (RH) of 55. While the burnout syndrome category is also quite high with the empirical rate (RE) of 93.00 and the hypothetical (RH) of 75.00
