Abstract

Canting cap batik is a tool used to simplify the work in painting batik on mori fabric. Canting cap batik in each manufacture arise some environmental impacts that occur so it needs to be analyzed related to the environmental impact seen from product material, manufacturing process, product usage until the end of product life. The research method used is ReCipe Endpoint (H) V1.13 / Europe ReCiPe H / A. The purpose of this research is (i) To identify the life cycle of batik canting cap from product material, manufacturing process, end of life use of product. (ii) conducting life cycle impact assessment of batik canting cap product. (iii) Provide suggestions for improvement to reduce the environmental impact caused by the impact score. The result of this research are (i) The life cycle cycle of batik canting cap is material and design selection, batik canting cap process, soldering process, combustion process, cooking process and inspection process, next is the use of batik canting cap until end of product life assuming recylce and landfill products. (ii) LCA calculation result is potential network impact score that is on product material, characterization that is on fossil depletion, damage assessment that is on resources, normalization that is at resources, weighting that is at resources, and single score is 0,8, 0,505, and 0,62 pt at resources. (iii) The alternative of the selected improvement is the 3 repair alternatives ie reducing the mass of using gondorukem wax by up to 30% and replacing the tin patent auxiliary material with aluminum powder to reduce potential environmental impact with the percentage of 13.87% of the environmental impact that can be derived.
