Abstract

Based on the stage of development, junior high school students should already have the self regulated learning. This study aims to test the effectiveness of self-management training in improving ability of self regulated learning in junior high school students. This research was an experiment Quasiresearch. Subjects in this research are regular class students of class VII & VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta who are aged 12 – 14 years old andhave ability of self regulated learning in lesscategory based on result of screening test. Total number of subjects are 36 people which divided into two groups namely the control group (18 students) and experiment group (18 students). The sampling technique used in this research is purposive random sampling. This research design used experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. Analysis method used in this research is using descriptive analysis of interview and observation showed parametric statistical analysis with T-Test. There is a significant difference in the score of learning ability with self-regulation of junior high school students between the control group and the experimental group (t-test score: -6,512, (p)<0,05 with mean score kontrol group 132,39 and experiment group157,17). While comparing pretest score with posttest ability self regulated learning of junior high students obtained Z -3,3638a, (p)<0,05 and mean score pretest 129,61 and mean score posttest 157,17.Based on the results of research conducted shows that self-management training is effective to improve ability self regulated learning of junior high school students.
