Abstract

In the manufacturing world, if the product designing is not considered to customer needs the probability of products rejection and lose from competitor will be increased. This problem also happended in PT. INKA and PT. KAI which got unsatisfying complains from customers. Therefore this research is to make a know the quality characteristic which is wanted by customers about seat space of K-3 2016 train, and also to make a refixing design seat space according to customers needs. The method of this research is Quality Function Deployment (QFD) where in the quality characteristic step also use Nordic Body Map questionnaire and Anthropometric approach. According to the result that has been founded, it can be concluded that demanded quality serially are; wide aisle space, dull plane of framework, the seat feels cozy, minimizing exhausting, with raw weight value are; 6,54, 5,184, 4,9, 3,86. The other result is a refixing design of K-3 2016 seat that has been considered to customers needs with dimension; height of seat bolster, length of arm rest, height of back rest, height of arm rest, length of bolster, height of lumbar, the angle of back rest, aisle space are 390,6 mm, 462,6 mm, 849,9 cm, 219,6 mm, 416,7 mm, 190,5 mm, 1150, 292,9 mm
