Abstract

ABSTRACT HR plays an important role in an organization in carrying out its activities. However, companies in Indonesia still have problems in maintaining high performing employees, critical skilled employees, and high potential employees. An example of a concrete manifestation of the difficulties of companies in Indonesia in retaining employees is that further burnout can lead to turnover. Forms of effort that can be done by company in suppressing burnout level to employees in the form of management strategy that can create condition where employees feel comfortable and eager with their work, which is work engagement. The purpose of this study to determine: (1) The relationship between psychological capital and job demands with work engagement; (2). Level psychological capital, job demands and work engagement on employees; (3) The contribution of psychological capital and job demands to work engagement on employees. Self-employee X research subjects amounted to 150 people. Data collection using scale of work engagement, psychological capital and job demands. The data analysis technique used regression of two predictors. The conclusion of the study stated that there is a very significant relationship between psychological capital and job demands with work engagement. The implications of this study suggest that companies can improve work engagement by optimizing psychological capital and minimizing job demands.
