Abstract

Education has an important role to improve the quality of human resources. Teachers are an important component in education, one of the codes of ethics that a professional teacher must have is that he or she should be able to use learning tools or media. The development of technology and information that increasingly rapidly give a strong influence on various areas of life, one of which is the field of education. With the use of media involving computers today can improve student achievement and motivation. Geography subjects are subjects that are rarely popular with students with the educational game students are expected to learn while playing so they will feel more excited and eager in learning. This research is a Research and Development (R & D) model of procedural model with steps adapted from Dick and Carrey. The research was conducted in SMA Negeri Punung Pacitan in class X. Data collection technique used by questionnaire and test. The result of the research shows that the instructional media of instructional game is the material of history of earth formation as a learning media which is feasible to be used in the learning process. The successful development of instructional media in the learning of learning is evidenced by the increase of learning achievement from 61,51 to 85,36.
