Abstract

Concrete is a mixture of Portland cement or other hydraulic cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water, with or without additive forming solids (SNI-03-2847-2002). The growth or development of the construction industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly as the years increase where most of the materials used in construction work are concrete. In this study, selected materials added in the form of slag and molasses to improve the quality of concrete. The aim of this research is to know the effect of addition of slag and molasses with normal concrete variation without sugar cane and without slag, concrete with molasses drop 0,2% + slag 10%, concrete with molasses 0,2% + slag 20% and concrete with molasses drop 0.2% + slag 30%. The value of f.a.s is determined 0.4 and f'c is planned at 20 MPa. The test specimens used were cylindrical (Ø150.300) as many as 12 pieces for concrete compressive test and 12 pieces for concrete tensile strength test at 28 days. At 28 days age, concrete strength value of concrete in normal concrete was 27.26 MPa, concrete with molasses drop 0,2% + slag 10% equal to 28,39 MPa, concrete with molasses drop 0,2% + 20% slag 30,09 MPa and concrete with molasses drops 0.2% + 30% slag of 27.82 MPa, so it is seen that the maximum compressive strength occurs in concrete with percentage addition of 0.2% sugar cane + 20% slag of 30.09 MPa. At 28 days the concrete tensile strength value of concrete in normal concrete is 2.57 MPa, concrete with 0.2% slag + 10% slag of 2.88 MPa, concrete with molasses drop of 0.2% + 20% slag of 3.28 MPa and concrete with 0.2% molasses + 30% slag of 2.76 MPa, so it is seen that maximum tensile strength occurs in concrete with percentage of addition of molasses drop 0,2% + slag 20% that is equal to 3.28 MPa. The value of tensile strength is 9.31%; 9.69%; 9.28% and 9.75% of the compressive strength value of concrete or 0,48. √(〖f'〗_c ), 0,51. √(〖f'〗_c ), 0,49. √(〖f'〗_c ) dan 0,52. √(〖f'〗_c ). The value of the correlation coefficient of compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete is equal to 0.8780 which means the relationship between compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete is very strong.
