Abstract

ABSTRACT In SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang, the teacher is someone who plays an important role in giving spirit and encouragement to learn, this is related to the importance of learning motivation owned by learners. For learners which is not good in learning, lazy, not spirit in study and have no ideals, will be encouraged to become learners who are eager to learn and have sky-high ideals. Especially teachers who teach Islamic education lessons have a role to increase confidence, understanding, appreciation and experience of Islamic teachings so become muslim which continues to develop faith and devotion to Allah SWT, but it also has responsibility to foster motivation on the learner so that the spirit and in learning Islamic religious education. Because of the purpose of the education making him a whole person spiritually and physical, can live and thrive fairly and normally because of devotion to Allah SWT. Problem in this study include: (1) How is the role of Islamic education teachers in improving the motivation of learning religious education in the class XI IPS students in SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang? (2) What factors influence the motivation of learning Islamic education on the students of class XI IPS in SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang?. The purpose of this study is (1) to know and to describe the role of Islamic education teachers in improving the motivation of learning religious education in the class XI IPS students in SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang (2) to know and to describe factors influence the motivation of learning Islamic education on the students of class XI IPS in SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang. This research is field research with qualitative desriptive approach. The subjects of this study are Islamic religious education teachers, students of class XI IPS and Principals. Data collection methods used are documentation, interviews and observation. While the method of data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis include data reduction, data presentation, conclusion or verification with inductive thinking pattern. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the role of Islamic religious education teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang in improving the motivation of learning Islamic education on the students of class XI IPS in SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang very much and interrelated. Teachers are expected to educate, guide and motivate learners in accordance with the teachings of Islam (Al-Qur’an and Hadits) and responsible for the development of learners by seeking the development of all potential students, both affective, cognitive and psychomotor in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings. Factors that affect the motivation of learning Islamic education on the students of class XI IPS include 1) The condition of learners who are happy in leraning Islamic religious education 2) The family environment and community learners are less religious Keywords: The role of Islamic religius education teachers, motivation to learn, learning of Islamic education.
