Abstract

CV. Tiga Berlian Jaya is a business engaged in manufacturing furniture making furniture. The rapid industrial development also requires companies to maintain consumer confidence by producing quality products and on time delivery. However, this company in the fulfillment of production is still found delay due to waste that occurred in the work area. Therefore, this research is useful to decrease the existing waste on the production floor so that it can minimize with the recommendation of improvement so that the production process can be completed according to the target set. Value Stream Mapping Approach is one of Lean approach which has diagram arrangement (map) that can identify the time needed in a product workmanship, waiting time of each process step, and describes waiting time of next process is waste. The result of activity mapping obtained 283 minutes of production lead time. With Value Added activity amounted to 14, Non Value Added activity as much as 6 and Non Necessary Value Added activity as much as 4. Based on the recommendation recommendation made and mapped back the previous lead time can be reduced to 255.5 minutes or 5.4%. As well as the operating time can be reduced by 25 minutes and transport time is reduced by 24 minutes
