Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is chronic metabolism nuisance disease. The high amount of diabetic can be caused by low life style, low knowledge, and low awereness in early detecting the diabetes mellitus, low physic activity, and low traditional eating pattern which is too much of carbohydrate. The purpose of the research is to know the difference between carbohydrate consumption based on nutrition knowledge in diabetic at the work place, the public healt center , Ceper district, Klaten regency. The kind of the research in observational by cross-sectional formation. The research is 37 respondents either who has good knowledhe or less knowledge. The data collection in the research by using knowledge questionnaire and Semi Quantitative FFQ form. The Respondent's knowledge data were taken using questionnaire of 30 questions. While the data of respondents carbohydrate consumption taken by using Semi Quantitative FFQ form. Nutrisurvey application used to know the amount of nutrition facts in gram. Data analysisi done in each variable in order to know the difference between related variables. Statistic test which is used normality test by Kolmogorov Smirkov test and continued by using t-test independent statistic. The result of independent t-test obtained that the value p = 0.276 (p > 0.05). So, it means there is no diferrence of carbohydrate consumption based on nutrition knowledge at the work place in the public healt center, in Ceper district. Characteristics of respondents by age known that the highest age 56-65 years that is equal to 28.4%. According to gender it is known that more women that is equal to 52.7%. According to the education is known that the respondents with primary education has the highest percentage of 51.2%. And according to old sickness DM <5 year equal to 58.1%. Carbohydrate intake of respondents according not to recommendation of PERKENI amounted to 66,3%.
