Abstract

Laboratory-based chemistry learning management includes planning, implementation, evaluation and constraints faced by teachers and their solutions. Laboratory-based chemistry learning is essential because it meets the demands of the 2013 curriculum with a scientific approach with key steps, observing, questioning, gathering information, associating, communicating. The purpose of this research is to describe laboratory based chemistry study planning, laboratory based chemistry learning strategy, chemical lab based learning assessment, constraints faced by teachers and laboratory staff in laboratory based chemistry learning along with the solution in SMA Negeri 1 Mejayan.This research is conducted by using qualitative research method, and with ethnographic research approach.There are 8 strategies that teachers do as follows. Teachers should analyze the material characteristics to be practiced, the availability of tools and materials, the level of hazard of material use, assigning students to study the LKS, preparing for pre test, assessment sheets, and post test questions. Preferably before the previous teacher practicum students have tried it. Teachers should also prepare a systematic report of the practicum to be used in presentations and discussions at the next meeting. In the implementation strategy of chemistry-based learning laboratortium, it is advisable for chemistry teachers to perform laboratory operational procedures, such as pre-test, washing tools before lab, and post test, so that the learning emphasized on the process of obtaining knowledge and scientific skills for students can run effectively And the results are optimal.
