Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the sociohistorical background of Motinggo Bosje author of the drama Malam Jahanam; (2) describes the constructive structure of the drama Malam Jahanam; (3) reveals the social aspects embodied in the drama of the Malam Jahanam with the approach of literary sociology; And (4) to describe the results of research on satra learning in SMA. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Source of data obtained from Malam Jahanam drama text by Motinggo Bosje. Technique of collecting data using library technique, technique of note recording, and technique of snippet. Data analysis technique used is dialectic method. The results of this study are (1) Bustami Djalid, that is the real name given by the couple Djalid Sutan and Rabi'ah to Motinggo Busye when he was born on 21 November 1937 in Kupangkota, Telukbetung, Lampung; (2) the drama of Malam Jahanam by Motinggo Busye has an advanced groove. The figures involved in this text are: a) Mat Kontan, as the main character with rough and grumpy nature, b) Soleman, as a companion with the nature of protecting women, but the rough impression can not be separated from it, c) Paijah, as the wife of Mat Cash, as an extrasist with a tritagonist role, has a cheerful and mediating nature at the height of the conflict;3) social aspect embodied in Motinggo Busye Malam Jahanam script include: a)the value of love and affection (devotion, help-helping, kinship, caring), b) the value of responsibility, and c) the value of harmony of life (justice , Tolerance,cooperation, democracy, and democracy); And (4) learning materials in accordance with the results of this study are prepared based on content standards in the form of competence standards and basic competencies in class XI semester 2 (even).
