Abstract

Trees in Indonesia are often used as greening roads as well as the greening of home estates that aesthetically and functionally in order to give the impression of beautiful and fresh. To get the impression and function it must be care and maintenance is good for the arrangement. In order to get the impression and function it must be a good maintenance for the arrangement and maintenance, by cutting the branches of trees. So in the implementation of the necessary cutting tools twigs that facilitate human work. In general in the community of cutting tools are still using energy consumables that will run out over time. For this purpose, this research aims to design twin cutter with DC motor using renewable energy. The method of this research is designing cutter twig with DC motor using renewable energy with 1 piece of saw blade which is attached on DC motor. Then using a 14 volt DC motor 2 amperes, 1 piece solar panel whose capacity is 100Wp, then use 1 Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) in order to set the speed of DC motor. The result of this research machine able to cut 1 twig with time more or less 15 seconds with speed 1708 Rpm, test done by cutting twig diameter 1,5 cm and result according to expectation and work well.
