Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) The attitude of tolerance of Muslims against adherents of other religious; 2) The concerns of Muslim to the preservation of Risan Temple in Candirejo Village, Semin Sub-district Gunungkidul Regency. This research uses qualitative research, data collection with observation method, interview and documentation. Data validity uses triangulation of data sources and triangulation techniques or data collection methods. Data analysis applies interactive model through data reduction, data model, withdrawal/ verification conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the attitude of tolerance of Muslims against adherents of other religions in the village of Candirejo is based on two basic values of religious values and social values. The value of religion comes from the teachings of each belief. The value of religion reflected in the Muslim community Candirejo village is a good relationship in social life and respect and respect other religious people in performing religious services or religious activities. The social values derived from the habits that have been ingrained in the community such as mutual cooperation and people together rukun bebarengan. The form tolerance of Muslims against adherents of other religions is shown through two attitudes of tolerance of religious tolerance and social tolerance. Harmonious relationship and mutual respect for fellow believers and participation in the activities of other religious people as a manifestation of religious tolerance and social tolerance. Muslim's concern for the existence and preservation of Risan Temple is shown through the attitude of respecting the ancestors and traditions of Risan Temple which has long been a hereditary habit of Candirejo village community, such as giving offerings every time have a celebration. Another form of Muslim concern for the preservation of Risan Temple is to keep the temple of Risan intact by maintaining the cleanliness, security, and preservation of Risan Temple.
