Abstract

Leading commodities in the agricultural sector, especially food crop agriculture can be used as a basis for prioritizing the development of agricultural crops. Agricultural development aims to improve yield and quality of production, increase income and living standards of the community. The purpose of this research is to analyze the leading commodity of Food Agriculture Plant in Karanganyar Regency based on Location Quotion (LQ) index value and Analyze the development of food crops in Karanganyar Regency. The method used in this study is the method of secondary data analysis using Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and in-depth interviews. With the formula LQ will be generated index to determine a district including base or non base on a food crop sector. The result of this research is Map of Leading Commodity of Food Agriculture Plant which consist of base or non base class of agriculture crop base sector in Karanganyar regency and LQ table, agriculture food crop base sector in Karanganyar regency spread in region with latosol type reddish brown and mediteran brown Because it is suitable for agriculture, as well as rainfall is quite good 1500-2000 mm / year. The development of rice crops tend to be stagnant, while for corn, cassava, sweet potato and peanut tend to fluctuate. Rice farming is more suitable to be developed in Jaten, corn and peanut in Jumantono district, Jatiyoso plant in Jatiyoso district, cassava plant in Tawangmangu district
