Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find: (1) differences in mathematics learning outcomes through funnel media counting with abacus media in class II Muhammadiyah 3 Elementary School Nusukan Surakarta in 2018/ 2019; (2) which media is better between counting funnel media and abacus media towards the mathematics learning outcomes of class II students of Muhammadiyah 3 Elementary School Nusukan Surakarta in 2018/ 2019. This type this research used is quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental research design. Data collection techniques in this research are test , observation and documentation. Techniques the sampling technique used in this study is cluster random sampling. The Instrument is tested by using validity and reliability. The prerequisite test used in this research is normality test and homogeneity test. The data analysis technique in this research used t test. The results of the analysis obtained the value of tcount> ttable (2.289095> 2.004045) with the average value of the mathematics learning outcomes of the IIC class is greater than the average value of the IIB class that is 84.28571 > 76.72414. The conclusion are (1) there is differences in the results of mathematics learning between counting funnel media and abacus media in grade II students at Muhammadiyah 3 Elementary School Nusukan Surakarta in 2018/ 2019; (2) counting funnel media better than abacus media in class II students at Muhammadiyah 3 Elementary School Nusukan Surakarta in 2018/2019.
