Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the preparing mathematics teacher at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo in implementation project assessment on learning mathematics based on the cooperative learning STAD type, to describe the implementation project assessment in learning mathematics based on cooperative learning STAD type, and to describe the problem in implementation project assessment in learning STAD. Based on approaching research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is grade VIIIB SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo which is amounts to 25 students. The collecting of data is using observation, interview, test and documentation. The validity data is done by triangulation technique is comparing data result from observation, interview, test, and documentation. The technique of data analysis is used interactive analysis through collecting data, reduction of data, presentation of data and conclusion. The result of this research shows that,(1) the teachers prepared the material and design the implementation of learning, make a the pre-test, LKK, and post-test is used to know the ability of students, (2) the implementation of project assessment based on Cooperative learning STAD type by applying steps to deliver material, in groups, grouping study, evaluation and grouping reward at each meeting increased mastery at the first meeting 43%, the second 43% and the third 82%, the average LKK, average pre-test and average post-test of students first meeting 71,261, 54,348 and 71,261, second 73,13, 61,967 and 73,696, and the third meeting 85,609, 85 and 87,565 and (3) the problem is faced in research is researcher less creativity in making assignment, making instruments is not ready yet, the student is not enthusiastic and the time is not adequate.
