Abstract

In the construction of buildings there are 3 main types of materials namely wood, steel and concrete. Lack of using wooden materials ie wood can be damaged both from the fungus mupun termites, the higher the price of wood in the market. Based on the above description, innovations arise to improve the strength of wood bending on the horses without replacing the already installed wood. Repairs are used in ways with the addition of steel plates on wood. In this test the wood used there are three types namely: teak, acacia wood, and sengon wood. Plate used for the improvement of the plate janur (Band Eyzer). And as a spanner used spikes, nail connections with a distance of 3 cm, 6 cm, and 9 cm. The test is made of bending strength test, and for wood specification in the test of compressive strength, shear strength, tensile strength, and specific gravity. For the steel plate itself, a tensile strength test is performed. From the result of the test, it was found that the average bending strength of teak wood without plate 117,87 MPa, with plate of spacing 3 cm 78,93 MPa with spacing plate 6 cm 89,07 MPa with spacing plate 9 Cm 91.20 MPa. While for the average bending strength of sengon wood is 48,53 MPa, with plate spacing 3 cm 37,33 MPa, with plate spacing of 6 cm 39,47 MPa, with plate spacing 9 cm 35,20 MPa. While for the average bending strength of acacia wood is 75,20 MPa, with plate spacing 3 cm 62,40 MPa, with plate spacing of 6 cm 74,67 MPa with nail plate 9 cm 57,60 MPa.
