Abstract

Abstract This study examines the counseling strategies used by counseling teachers in junior high school. The purpose of this study are (1) to describe the use of speech acts advising counseling teachers on students in junior high school, (2) to describe the strategy of using speech acts advising counseling teachers on students in the junior high school environment. Data collection techniques using techniques (1) observation, (2) refer, (3) record, (4) interview, (5) recording. Data were analyzed by using flow analysis model. As for the forms of exhorting speech among otheres; (1)recommenation, (2) suggestions, (3) directions, (4) appeals, (5) calls, (6) warnings, and (7) criticisms. The strategy used there are two, namely direct strategy and indirect strategy. This study has two results. (1) the form of speech advised by the teacher BK there are seven sub sections; (a) there are 12% recomended, (b) there are 18% suggestions, (c) there are 8% directive, (d) there are 15% appeal, (e) calls for 16%, (f) warning of 17%, and (g) criticisms of 13%. (2) there are two strategies used: (a) direct strategy with news sentence, sentence, and command sentence, (b) indirect strategy with two modes, news sentence and sentence.
