Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and classify every items in mathematics textbook ninth grade curriculum 2013 based cognitive domain TIMSS 2015. The data in this study were collected through observation on each item in the textbooks that were analyzed using interactive analyzed techniques. This research was based cognitive TIMSS consisting of domain knowing, applying, and reasoning. The result showed that of 977 items were analyzed, 195 including the cognitive domain knowing or 19,96%. 481 or 49,23% items included the cognitive domain applying. 286 items or 29,27% items included the cognitive domain reasoning. Much different proportions determined by the TIMSS 2015, 35% for cognitive domain knowing, 40% for cognitive domain applying, and 25% for cognitive domain reasoning. Mathematics textbooks ninth grade curriculum 2013 has not been in accordance with the framework TIMSS 2015. Keyword: cognitive aspect, textbook, question
