Abstract

This study aims to determine consumer protection against expired food circulation, form of supervision and supervision of government and agencies related to the distribution of expired food in Sukoharjo regency and its impact on consumer health. The research method used descriptive juridical empiric method. Sources of data consists of primary data ie interviews and secondary data namely primary, secondary and tertiary legal data. Methods of data collection through literature study and field study (interview), then the data were analyzed qualitatively. The result of the research concludes that for business actor who commits an offense will be subject to sanctions in accordance with the provisions set forth in Article 60 to Article 63 of Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection. In addition, Sukoharjo District Health Office also contributes to the supervision and supervision of samples of business actors allegedly committing violations, as well as appealing to business actors to label every food produced as an information medium for consumers who will affect the body and human health occur in several stages and can not occur directly when consuming expired foods.
