Abstract

Information is a very important need in today's developing age, so it is very easy to get information by using various media. Notice of inappropriate media information may affect the information submitted. Based on the observations made at the Faculty of Communication and Informatics, the medium of information delivery still uses an announcement sheet or through websites that are considered less effective because not all students often access it. So it takes the development of digital signage green computing-based, which is expected to be one of the appropriate media for delivery of information. Attractive presentation display, up to date and real time is one effort to make the delivery of information more interactive. Application of green computing using raspberry pi 3B hardware as server and client, because this raspberry is a mini computer that is known friendly and efficient power compared with ordinary computer. The results of the Digital Signage-based digital signage testing system uses screenly applications, where the interface display is simple, easy to use and has scheduling features, displaying information in the form of video, image and website. This application allows the admin in accessing the system that is by login in the server on raspberry pi 3B, while the client to display information on TV / LCD in FKI UMS. Raspi used to save power and can be used in real time where green computing can be applied to this system.
