Abstract

One of the characteristics of learning styles related to absorbing, managing and conveying information is the learning style of learners. Information related to the characteristics of student learning styles to be taught, is very important for teachers to improve the quality of learning. Students will also be easier to motivate themselves in the process of learninng. This study aims to determine how learning styles and differences in student learning styles of high academic value and students with low academic value. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research are students of class VII.A, B, C, and D in SMPN 1 Colomadu, while the object of this study is the learning style of students of high academic value and students of low academic value. The research instrument used in this study is a questionnaire that will be filled 40 by the research subject. The result of the learning style analysis to the students of high academic value resulted in 40% visual learning style, 30% Auditorial learning style, 15% kenesthetic learning style, 15% combined learning style visual and auditorial, and 0% for combined kinesthetic and auditorial visual learning style Kinesthetic. While for the student's learning style analysis, the low academic score is 20% with visual learning style, 50% with auditorial learning style, 15% with kinesthetic learning style, 0% with auditorial visual combined learning style, 10% with kinesthetic visual combined learning style and 5 % With auditorial and kinesthetic combined learning styles. The conclusion of this study is the students 'learning style of high academic value tends to the visual learning style (40%) and the students' learning style of low academic value tends to the auditorial learning style (50%).
